I am Darryl from the United States and I have had a problem with Erectile Dysfunction for several years.
I finally went to my doctor who diagnosed me with ED after my impotency began to cause significant problems between me and my wife.
After I was diagnosed, I began researching Erectile Dysfunction and gathering information on the various treatments which included name brand ED pills such as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis and their generic counterparts as well as other types of options.
The following information is based on what I learned during this process as well as actual results I experienced.
I believe that it is beneficial to share my experiences, particularly where ED medications are concerned since they are the main go-to drugs for the treatment of the disorder.
First of all, I want to stress the importance of consulting your doctor before ingesting any kind of Erectile Dysfunction medications. There are various side effects that accompany each type ED pill, some of which can be quite serious if you have certain existing health problems. Your doctor will assess your health condition and help you determine which ED pills are right for you. They will also prescribe the correct dosage based on your health and medical history.
Viagra – Active Ingredient Sildenafil Citrate
Viagra was the first oral drug in tablet form approved in 1998 to treat Erectile Dysfunction and, therefore, it is the most popular. Viagra begins to work between 30 minutes to an hour after taking it and numerous erections can be achieved during the 4 or 5 hours that the drug lasts.
The “little blue pill” is oval in shape and available in 25mg, 50mg and 100mg doses. It is usually recommended by doctors to begin with the 50mg dose to see how you respond and then either lower or raise the dosage accordingly. Eating fatty foods or drinking alcohol is not recommended while taking Viagra since they can significantly reduce the effects of the drug.
Levitra – Active Ingredient Vardenafil
The active ingredient vardenafil was approved by the U.S. FDA under the brand name Levitra in 2003 and is much safer than other available ED drugs, presenting less risk for adverse side effects.
Levitra’s round, orange pills are prescribed by a doctor in dosages of 5mg, 10mg and 20mg and the dose you receive will depend on your doctor’s assessment of your health condition and severity of your Erectile Dysfunction disorder.
The effects of Levitra take from between 20 and 30 minutes to be realized. This ED pill allows the eating of fatty foods or the drinking of small amounts of alcohol without lessening its effects.
Cialis – Active Ingredient Tadalafil
Cialis is the longest lasting ED medication on the market, providing a many as 36 hours of effective erection performance. Its lengthy effects of achieving multiple erections over a 36-hour period have caused the drug to be nicknamed “the weekend pill”.
Cialis comes in 10mg and 20mg doses and must be prescribed by a doctor.
